The humble biro is fighting back against the march of new technology by introducing a model with a universal stylus.
Pen manufacturer Bic will replace its plastic cover for a touchscreen stylus in the new version of its famous Bic Cristal biro.
The iconic pen has sold 115 billion units worldwide since the first one made in 1945.
The French firm will launch a £2.49 6mm Cristal Stylus model in supermarket chains Sainsbury and Asda from August. It is already on sale online on sites including Amazon.
Bic says the stylus will:
- work at any angle
- work on any touchscreen and
- write for up to 3km
