BlackBerry’s CEO Thorsten Heins has urged the shareholders to be patient and wait for change as the board works to turnaround the fortunes of the company.
An unexpected quarterly loss last month promoted concerns about the board’s strategy but Heins insisted that BlackBerry was heading in the right direction.
Heins said: “We are still in the midst of a major transformation of this company.
“BlackBerry is still in the early phases of our transition. This isn’t just the launch of a new product but a whole new platform. While many will judge us on the basis of one quarter of a single product, we are not a devices-only product.
“This is a long-term transition for the company but I can assure you we are pushing very, very hard to show these improvements.”
